In Trinidad and Tobago, there are twenty two District Revenue Offices, formerly called “Warden Offices”, responsible to the Inland Revenue Division. The primary function of the District Revenue Services, under the Lands and Buildings Taxes Act, 2003 is to raise levy, assess and collect taxes on all Lands & Buildings not being within the cities of Port of Spain and San Fernando.
The District Revenue Officers plus the City Corporations of Port-of-Spain and San Fernando are the custodians of the historic land assessment rolls, not yet transferred to the National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago.
